Presentation: No-Interaction Design
Design is king at Transit App. We take pride in discussing every pixel and debating every user interaction. Removing gratuitous taps and minor annoyances is paramount; the less time our users spend trying to navigate their city, the more time they have to actually enjoy it. When we launched the app in 2012, we had a a very narrow focus: reduce the number of taps it takes to find upcoming departures times. Five years and millions of users later, and we still concentrate on the little things: for example, determining which direction users are heading, so they can find their ride without a single swipe; using Gantt Charts in our trip planner to make it more visual and require less reading; and building auto-generated transit maps with curves that are as smooth as butter. Come learn how Transit App’s focus on user interface design made it the most popular urban transport app in North America.
