Presentation: Evolution instead of revolution: A guide for a smooth transition to an account based ticketing
Account Based Ticketing is seen as the new standard in fare management, offering distinct advantages such as Open Payment functionality. In order to successfully execute the transition to Account Based Ticketing, proven migration strategies are required. Transition projects are complex and complicated: They bear risks and challenges unique to the environment of the agency. Specific considerations such as the agency’s set of requirements, regulations, constraints and targets must be taken into account.
The migration approach presented respects these risks and challenges and highlights strategies to master them. It works as a guide for a smooth and economic transition to an Account Based Ticketing system, reflecting on results experienced in projects for the Netherlands and Budapest. These projects are still on-going, the latest lessons learned will be presented.
