Marieke TREMBLAY
Biographical note
On July 11, 2016, the Québec government appointed Marieke Tremblay interim President and CEO and member of the Board of Directors of the Agence métropolitaine de transport (AMT). She has been mandated to pursue the AMT’s activities and ensure a seamless transition toward the two new public transit entities slated to begin operating in 2017: the Autorité régionale de transport (ART) and Réseau de transport de Montréal (RTM). In this capacity, she will work actively with the transition committee in implementing Bill 76, and with the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec in planning the Réseau électrique métropolitain public transit project. Ms. Tremblay first joined the AMT in January 2015 as Vice‑President, Communications and Marketing, and demonstrated tremendous skill as an inspiring and results-driven leader. In addition to studying economics, political science and communications, and obtaining a Bachelor of Arts from McGill University, Marieke Tremblay has worked in public affairs and strategic communications, both in the private and public sectors, for over 25 years. She boasts 20 years of experience working with executive teams. Most notably, Marieke Tremblay was Vice‑President, Corporate Affairs and Vice-President, Public Affairs at Molson and Molson Coors for more than a decade, and later held two key executive positions at the Olympic Park, namely Vice‑President and Strategic Advisor, Offices of the President and CEO, and Executive Vice‑President, Public Affairs, Operations, Marketing and Business Development. With the Olympic Park, she also distinguished herself by spearheading the impressive stimulus plan aimed at revitalizing the site and making the Olympic Park the standard against which the world’s modern urban parks are compared.
