Biographical note
Mr. Stefan Sahlmann has over 15 years of experience in the OEM bus industry. In several leading positions in sales, marketing and product management his main focus always was on public transport solutions. Over many years he was heading the BRT activities of Daimler Buses and supported the development and improvement of BRT systems all over the world.  Since 2013 Mr. Sahlmann is the responsible Senior Manager Product Marketing City Bus at MAN Truck & Bus AG. Within this position he is in charge of identification and analysis of market requirements, management and marketing of the city bus product portfolio. His special focus is on the development and promotion of efficient and environmental friendly drivetrain technologies and  solutions for eMobility in the public service segment.

eMobility is much more than only switching the fleet technology from combustion to electric drivetrain. It is more a system change influencing a brought range of parameters not only at the bus operation. This paper will focus on the role of bus OEMs to support the change to eMobility in the public transport in the optimal way.
