Angel MOLINERO
Biographical note
After his bachelor studies in Civil Engineening and masters studies in transportation at the University of Pennsylvania and technical practices in Stuttgart and London, Mr Molinero dedicated his professional life to promote and push forward a change in public transportation in México. He has participated as General Manager for Planning for México City´s Streets and Transportation Ministry as well as other duties in the city. In 1985 he founded the consultancy firm Urbanismo y Sistemas de Transporte SAdeCV, where he has evolved since then. On the academic side, he co-authored the book in Spanish Public Transportation: Planning, Design, Operations and Administration and within the Mexican Transportation and Mobility Association he authored the book Present Situation of the Urban Transport in México. Mr Molinero is advisor to the General Manager of Corredor Insurgentes, SAdeCV.

A synthetic explanation on how the transportation system of México City has evolved in the last 30 years, showing how CISA has helped to change the vision from informal individual transportation operators to entrepreneurs and solid established companies. The pros and cons will be addressed and the main benefits will be displayed.
