Jaehong MIN
Biographical note
Jaehong Min has been a chief researcher at Korea Railroad Research Institute since 1997. His main research area is public transportation especially railway planning and operation and he was in charge of the development of TRIPS (Travel Record based Integrated Public transport operation planning System) which can help PT operators to manage routes and time table with efficiency, and it was a finalist of PT award of 2015 UITP Summit. Currently, he is leading PT technology research and development at KRRI especially using Artificial Intelligence technique and preparing 4th Industrial Revolution of Korea.
Presentation: Sustainable public transport and 4th Industrial Revolution
Korea has been trying to establish sustainable transport system following Sustainable Transportation Logistics Development Act since 2009. It aims GHS mitigation, building eco-friendly transportation system and energy saving transportation & logistics system. Recently, transport experts considering 4th Industrial Revolution those keywords are connectivity, demand-oriented and autonomous vehicle. It is expected that future public transport should be personalized and shared following current technology development trend. In a view of sustainable public transport and current technology development trend, shape of future public transport system in Korea will be presented.
