Hiroaki KURAHASHI
Biographical note
Mr. Kurahashi was born in 1962, joined Japanese National Railways (JNR) in 1985 and afterward was assigned to East Japan Railway Company (JR-EAST) when JNR was divided and privatized in 1987. In JR-EAST, he has held various management positions including general manager of the IT Business Development Department, director of the Tokyo Branch Office and general manager of the Marketing Department. From 2011 to 2014, he was assigned to work as Executive Managing Director at East Japan Marketing & Communications, Inc., which is a subsidiary of JR-EAST. Since June 2014, he has been Executive Director of the JR-EAST New York Office.

At JR-EAST we operate a safe, reliable and extensive railway network including high speed trains as well as commuter and local trains, used by 17 million passengers daily. To make our railway systems more energy efficient, we focus not only on saving energy, but storing and creating energy as well. In this presentation I would like to introduce our strategy for the future.
