Presentation title: The Open Traffic Public-Private Partnership: using open-source data to improve traffic congestion & road safety in Southeast Asia
The Open Transport Partnership (OTP), currently incubated within the World Bank, is a
not-for-profit developing new strategies for public-private data partnerships. OTP incubates
the tools – both policies and technologies – required to use emerging private sector data
sources for the public good. OTP works with public and private entities to: (i) build replicable and sustainable partnership structures between the public and private sector; (ii) create data standards and operate data exchange infrastructures required to securely manage privacy-sensitive, commercial data; and (iii) develop analytical tools and data science practices that empower public sector entities to make meaningful use of these data for a variety of policy and operational need. Grab is a founding member of the OTP and has pioneered the use of big data to address urban mobility challenges.
