Miryam HERNÁNDEZ

Biographical note

Miryam Hernández has worked with UITP rail bodies since joining the Association in 2006. Since 2012 she is the Manager responsible for the Metropolitan Railways Division, coordinating the activities and reports of the Metropolitan Railways Committee and its 5 technical subcommittees (Operations, Fixed Installations, Electrical Installations and Safety systems, Rolling Stock, Finance & Commerce), as well as the Observatory of Automated Metros. She also acts regularly as Project and/or Programme manager for UITP rail-related events, from conferences to seminars and workshops.

Before joining UITP, Miryam worked for the international consultancy Hill & Knowlton, with the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research & Innovation as main client, and the European Foundation Center. By training, Miryam is a language and intercultural relations specialist, with a degree from Universidad de Valladolid and academic years in the universities of Mons-Hainaut in Belgium and Limerick in Ireland.
