Presentation: Chicago Ventra: The new normal for account-based open payment
Chicago’s Ventra system is the first large-scale account-based open payment system in North America – and the lighthouse for agencies wanting to incorporate contactless bankcard payments into their fare payment solutions. Account-based, open payment and mobile technologies are aimed at speeding up payment and providing enhanced convenience for consumers. The presentation will demonstrate how the model of a “one-account” solution – locating all payments for public transit providers or third-party services like bike sharing into a single online location – offers customers unparalleled convenience and benefit. Combined with mobile, this gives customers a one-stop shop that is scalable and adaptable to link their travel choices to preferred payment methods, with a single customer interface, logon and customer alerts.
