Youssef DRAISS

Biographical note
Youssef Draiss obtained a state engineer Diploma in 1992 and began his career at the National Agency of Cadastre Land Conservation and Carthography. From 1997 to 2003, he worked at the General Inspectorate of territorial Administration within the Ministry of Interior. In August 2007, Youssef Draiss was nominated Director of teh Programs Pole of Casablanca Town Hall. In 2008, he appointed as General Manager of Casablanca Transport. In May 2013, the UITP MENA Executive Committee appointed Youssef Draiss as Vice President representing the Maghreb Region.
Youssef Draiss has also obtained a Law Degree from Mohammed V University in Rabat, a Higher Education Management Diploma from the High Institute of Trade and Company Management and a Diploma from the High Institute of Territorial Development and Planning at ENCP Paris.

Presentation: Integrated vision for a transformative mobility in Casablanca
Casablanca Transport is a Developement Company, in charge of building a comprehensive sustainable mobility network: simplifying the daily travel of 4.5 million people and preserving the city’s position as a regional economic capital. Casablanca Transport ‘s misson is to build a modern state of the art public transport system. Following an initial 31km tramway line launched in December 2012, a 16 billion dirhams agreement was signed in September 201 4 to complete the network, including the construction of a further 80 km tramway lines reaching new urban areas by 2022. The Organisation is also in charge of building parking facilities with integrated ticketing system in strategic locations near the tramway lines and developing a comprehensive stralegy for traffic organisation, such as reviewing the bus sector business model reorganising traffic and leading a series of large scale infrastructure projects.
