Presentation: Adapt or die – the future of mass transit
We are facing a revolution in transportation that could have an even greater impact on our way of life than the introduction of steam engines over two centuries ago. Our imagination can lead us towards two very distinct futures: one sees us living happy, healthy lives in vibrant cities with endless mobility options; the other a dystopia of ever expanding suburbia, made possible by the very same mobility disruptors. How will mass transit play a role in these future scenarios? We must find a way to adapt our cities and transportation networks to offer a seamless experience that is comfortable and convenient, making mass transit of the future just as fun as travelling door-to-door in an autonomous pod.
