François CHAMBERLAND

Biographical note
Mr. Chamberland joined STM in 1992, where he worked in several different positions in the engineering services. At the end of the 1990s, he was in charge of one of the first maintenance engineering teams and contributed to the implementation of continual improvement and teamwork between Operation, Maintenance and Engineering services.
Since 2015, he is the Executive Director of Engineering, Infrastructure’s maintenance and Majors Projects for all of STM, including bus and metro. He is also the promoter of the electrification plan for STM’s bus network. Mr. Chamberland is the Chairman of the UITP metro division Rolling Stock Subcommittee.

Presentation: Montreal’s Cité Mobilité demonstration project
Presentation of the Cité Mobilité demonstration project that has begun in the streets of  Montréal a few weeks ago. Full electric buses using fast recharge facilities at each end of a route are in regular service for 3 years. We will present the project itself, the objectives and challenges involved. This project is a cooperation between the Société de Transport de Montréal and Nova Bus.
