Jürgen Boss, Head of Product Management at DILAX Intelcom GmbH is responsible for aligning the company’s product offering with the needs of the Public Transport market. DILAX offers more than 25 years of experience and comprehensive technical expertise in the field of capturing and managing people flows in urban surroundings. The DILAX portfolio encompasses innovative Technologies for Exact Passenger Numbers, Efficient Seat Management, Smartphone Tracking and Data Management & Predictive Analytics.
Based on Master degrees in mechanical engineering and business administration and a 15+ years experience in international product management of complex portfolios in the public safety and the public transport industries, Jürgen is constantly eager to identify cutting edge technology that improves the usability and versatility of a product and thus expanding its value to the user.

Presentation: Machine Learning – understanding and predicting of passenger behavior
State-of-the art analytics of passenger counting data does not stop at recording, structuring and reporting data of the past. In order to improve an operator’s service level and operational efficiency, a successful system must provide valuable knowledge of future situations in order to derive actionable recommendations from the findings. DILAX’s machine learning algorithms build a capable routine model of network activities. The speech shows how this model can be used to provide detailed insights in line utilization depending on circumstances, how occupancy prediction can be used to improve passenger comfort and how further influencing factors can be identified and added to an improved model with even higher coefficients of determination. Today’s capabilities of the algorithms are discussed relative to their intended use, future extensions of scope and technology are proposed.
