Luc BIOUL
Biographical note
Luc Bioul (62 years old), graduated in civil engineering at Université Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL). He is Senior Vice President Operations at Brussels public transport operator STIB. Between 1981 et 1989 he was in charge of “trafic” at STIB’s Operations Directorate. For five years, Mr Bioul was detached staff at the Cabinet of the Brussels Capital Region Communications Minister. In 1995, he joined STIB’s General Management and became Head of the Service for general studies and strategic planning and member of the Management Committee. Mr. Bioul became STIB’s Metro Director in 2002, then Director of the operator’s Metro Business Unit in 2007 and, in 2010, also Chairman of its Operations Executive Committee. He was named STIB’s Senior Vice President Operations in 2011 and also Director of the operator’s Special Studies Service (SSE) in 2013. He has carried out numerous missions abroad for Transurb Consult, an engingeering office. At UITP, he served as the metro Operations Subcommittee Chairman from 2007 to 2015 as well as the Metropolitan Railways Committee Vice-Chairman (2010 to 2015), then Chairman (since 2015).
