Presentation: Electro-mobility and clean transport, experience of Foothill Transit in Southern California
This presentation will share the experiences of Foothill Transit in pioneering electric vehicle technology. With Los Angeles County having one of the worst air quality regions in the US, Foothill Transit embarked on an electric bus pilot program in 2010. Starting with three electric buses that has now grown to 17, Foothill Transit is the leader in transit fleet electrification. As one of the first fleets with electric buses in operation, and the first to operate electric buses with in-route charging technology, Foothill Transit has developed valuable experience as pioneers in electric transportation. In six years of operation, their electric buses have accumulated over 1.2 million electric miles. With an additional 13 being deployed later in 2017, Foothill Transit’s electric fleet will provide zero emissions technology to two of the most heavily used routes in their service area. Foothill Transit is undertaking on a bold new vision to fully electrify their bus fleet by 2030.
