Gabriel MALO
Biographical note
Gabriel Malo is a project manager with the RATP for more than 10 years. He has been involved in the extension of several metro lines. He is now responsible for the new stations of line 11 in the east of Paris. Architect by training, he started his career working on the preservation of the Parisian metro stations’ heritage. He graduated from the École d’architecture de l’Université de Montréal and he holds a Master degree in Architecture conservation.
Presentation: When heritage inspire customers’ experience : the example of the Paris Line 11 extension
This presentation will take you through the conception of six new stations built as part of Line 11 extension in the east of Paris. The presentation will highlight how heritage considerations and customers’ experience have inspired its core design principles such as : universal accessibility, historical metro references and a cultural identity.
Line 11 extension also includes a viaduct and an overground station which offers to the user a contemporary reinterpretation of the aerial metro landmark.
