Wilma CLEMENT

Biographical note
Wilma Clement is the Assistant General Secretary of the ITF affiliate the Barbados Workers’ Union. She is the ITF Road Transport Workers’ Section Women’s Representative (elected in 2010). This position means that she is a member of the ITF Road Transport Workers’ Section Steering Committee and ITF Women’s Committee.

Presentation: What’s decent work got to do with it?
Social and economic conditions in many countries, force women to seek jobs in the formal and informal sectors.  Traditional attitudes and systems in the transport sector make this type of work daunting for women, notwithstanding the fact that transport is a key component in building successful economies.
