Presentation: Partnership strategies for fleet operations and maintenance
A fast growing demand for public transport services increases the need to optimize the maintenance of the fleets in operations (metro, light rail and bus). The goal is to maximize fleet availability, improve punctuality and raise quality of service – while bringing down the cost of maintenance at the same time. Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) like Bombardier Transportation have developed innovative fleet maintenance models to support Operators worldwide in achieving these objectives. Real cases studies highlight the underlying two key success factors of the proposed maintenance models: They are not only based on a cooperative approach, which combines the strengths of the Operator and the OEM, but make also use of advanced digital technologies that allow to deploy data driven maintenance strategies.
