Presentation: Combining mobility – from vanguard to normality
Vienna chose to set up a subsidiary – named Upstream next level mobility – for operating and steadily improving a multimodal mobility service platform. Thereby, two business models were identified: one for the platform itself, comprising B2B-solutions for a variety of mobility services. The corporate customers are then put into a position to add their own business model on top – with a direct link to consumers (B2C).
Wiener Linien (Vienna Transport) is one of the business customers and offers a full range of multimodal mobility functions. Establishing a MaaS-model in Vienna follows a maturity model: using different types of modalities; using one integrated IT-solution and ultimately offering combined tariff products. Matching offer and demand in terms of timing and quality/pricing is a key challenge by following this development path.
