Roger DIRKSMEIER

Biographical note
Working since 16 years for FOGTEC Fire Protection, nowadays the world market leader for active fire protection solution in rolling stock applications, Roger started his career after the university at Deutsche Bahn, the German railway operator, in the field of fire risk analysis and fire protection concepts for locomotives and EMU/DMU-vehicles. The university he finished as a graduated engineer in the field of “track-guided vehicles” and “traction technologies”.
At FOGTEC he started in the research and development doing full scale fire tests and validation procedures for fire detection and fire fighting systems. Joining several groups of regulations and research projects in different countries (Germany, Italy, China, US also Europe-wide) especially in the field of railway vehicles and tunnels, he supports the development of active fire protection measures in rolling stock applications with a very active role. During the years in FOGTEC he changed his positions from Product Manager Rail Systems and General Manager Rail Systems to Managing Director Rail Systems, becoming member of the board in FOGTEC 2008.
