Joint presentation with Raphael Roy: Presentation: Digitalisation and fight against fraud
Amongst other challenges faced by metro operators, throughput management and fraud prevention are key elements to improve operational efficiency. Current systems and equipment in the stations provide a wealth of data which are too often used for basic operational functionalities, missing the vast amount of opportunities for maximising efficiency they can provide.
Moving from data collection to intelligent data management can allow to:
– Analyse: Throughput and Fraud in real time based on location, time and system availability
– Predict: Throughput and fraud to identify pressure points in location and time as well as create profiles and patterns of fraudsters
– Act: Better plan resources and actively reduce frauds
Through purposely designed tools based on intelligent data, metro operators can then improve resource utilisation (right team in right time and best place), minimise fraud, increase customer experience and ultimately improve return on investment.
This focus session will demonstrate the basis behind these tools and through practical example demonstrate how basic and available data can revolutionise the overall efficiency of operating a metro system.
