Biographical note

Marta Labata has a degree in law from the University of Barcelona, a master’s degree in Human Resources from EADA and a PDD from IESE Business School. She started in the health sector in 2001 as manager of human resources at the Catalan Blood and Tissue Bank and later on at the Trias i Pujol Bros. University Hospital.
She moved to the transport sector in 2004 when she started working at TMB within the human resources department. After a long professional career, firstly in the corporate division and later on in the bus human resources management, in 2013 she joined the Bus General Management as Operations Manager, and since November 2014 she is the Chief Executive Officer of TMB Bus Network. Currently she is also the chair of New Technologies and Marketing Commission from ATUC.
Nowadays she is getting involved in quite a lot strategic projects, such as: “The Barcelona’s New Bus Network”, for enhancement of Barcelona’s bus network introducing high level of service routes; the deployment of full-electric standard and articulated buses in Barcelona, seeking environmental sustainability and efficiency; the construction of a new depot: “Zona Franca – Port”, to host hybrid and CNG buses; and the implementation of the new “T-Mobilitat” ticketing system , contact-less smart card based.
