Presentation: Benefits of account-based (id-based) electronic fare collection for riders & agencies
Account-Based (or ID-Based) Electronic Fare Collection allows for more flexibility than any previous method of fare collection.
- Customers are allowed choice of payment, i.e. closed-loop cards, mobile phones or contactless credit cards
- Agencies can implement creative fare policy, i.e. capping rules or off-peak discounts
- Partnerships are forged with other transit related providers, i.e. bike share or parking
This flexibility helps transit agencies meet the growing customer demand for personalization and higher levels of service.
