VERKEHRSBETRIEBE KARLSRUHE GmbH
The Verkehrsbetriebe Karlsruhe (VBK) are a communal transportation company, which provides public transport via Bus and Tram on behalf of the city of Karlsruhe. The VBK are furthermore responsible for the construction and maintenance of the transport infrastructure within the city. Together with the AVG they build the basis of the “Karlsruher Modell”. What these two companies have to offer is eagerly accepted: over 170 Million passengers per year are brought safely to their destination.
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The VBK objective is to bring its passengers safely, quickly and comfortably to their planned destination. To ensure that all customers are satisfied, only the newest low-floor trams are used in Karlsruhe. This enables comfortable and accessible travelling within the city centre. Numerous train stations have been reconstructed to ensure maximum accessibility and in the next few years many more will gradually be rebuilt to meet the same standards.
